How it all began…

When my father passed away in August of 2011, I inherited a large stand mixer that he had in a small restaurant he built. He had never used it but thought it could come in handy someday. It was mentioned that perhaps this mixer could be used for bread or maybe even cinnamon rolls…challenge accepted. I spent the next several months working on a cinnamon roll recipe that was perfect in every way. Cupcakes and beautifully decorated cakes soon followed and Sweet Katees was born. Although I’m known locally for my cake creations, it’s that damn cinnamon roll that people come back for time and again. They’ve made it a tradition…a habit. It’s this blissful pillow of sweet delight that I hope you order and enjoy.

Katie Friend Owner, Head Baker

Katie grew up in Southern California and always enjoyed being spunky and creative. After obtaining her Cosmetology license and after working towards a degree in interior design, she found her home and heart in the kitchen. She was able to take all the things she has learned along the way and apply them to her baking and cake decorating. A self taught baker and cake decorator, she is constantly learning and striving to accomplish more each day.
